Many of us are interested in the state of Kansas' finances, and we all want Kansas dollars to be well-managed.
Furthermore, we want everyone to be financially literate along with having opportunities to save for higher education, retirement, and to provide care for those with disabilities.
What's at Stake?
The last eight years strained Kansas budgets to the breaking point. And while the Legislature has taken some steps to revive State revenue, there is still much to be done. As lawmakers continue addressing our many fiscal challenges, it’s vital they have access to accurate information to effectively plan for our financial future.
And as families plan for their own challenges, we have performance rates for Kansas’ Learning Quest and ABLE savings programs that are among some of the lowest in the nation. We need to address both performance and the opportunity to participate in these programs to allow eligible Kansans to truly benefit.
